Bio

Sara Lago was born in 1994 in Cittadella (Padua). After studying Cognitive Psychology and Psychobiology at the University of Padova and completing an Erasmus experience of 9 months at Bahcesehir University in Istanbul.

In 2016 she received her bachelor’s degree with a thesis on the effects of different eating regimes on cognitive functioning.

She later continued her education at the University of Padova and received her master’s degree in Neuroscience and Neuropsychological Rehabilitation in 2018 with a thesis on Cognitive Stimulation Therapy for people with Alzheimer’s Dementia, after completing a 6-months internship in a residential facility for this kind of patients.

She acquired expertise in the neuropsychological assessment and in conducting cognitive stimulation interventions, both for groups and individuals.

She is now a research assistant at MEG and Neurophysiology Lab.

Research interests

• the neuropsychology of language, particularly on pragmatic abilities and their neurophysiological basis, both in patients (especially with multiple sclerosis, stroke and traumatic brain injury) and in healthy controls;
• the development of reliabile and change-sensitive instruments to monitor the improvement of communication disorders of patients following rehabilitation;
• the use of Brain-Computer Interface rehabilitation technologies for stroke.
