Research Management and Support Offices (RMSO)

The Research Research Management and Support Offices (RMSO) supports the Scientific Director in the exercise of his functions. The RMSO is an organisational structure specific to IRCCS, which manages – from both a technical and legal/administrative point of view – all the activities related to clinical research. The ATR also manages all the activities related to Research – from a technical-professional point of view – interfaith with institutional bodies, such as the Ministry of Health, Universities, National and International Research Institutes, the European Commission and the CCR. Finally, RMSO promotes the raising of research funding, monitors the Institute’s scientific output and ensures the protection and enhancement of intellectual property of the inventive results of IRCCS researchers.

Research Administration Office

Activities:

reception of purchase requests for consumables, instruments and services for the purpose of research and management of the approval cycle of expenditure;
monitoring of research accounting flows;
reporting of research funding;
technical and administrative management of the scientific activity commissioned by third parties for the transfer of research services;
formalisation of contracts for research projects financed in collaboration with the Grant Office;
collection and preparation of documentation for the confirmation of the scientific title of the Institute as part of the National IRCCS network.

Scientific Documentation Office

Activities:

receiving requests and collecting scientific documentation
support and advice for the writing and publication of scientific articles;
bibliographical research and bibliometric analyses through dedicated platforms;
enhancement of research activity and evaluation of scientific productivity through bibliometric indicators;
creation of Knowledge Base to support research activities.

Grant Office and Technology Transfer Office

Activities:

identification of funding opportunities for national and international research;
scouting and pre-feasibility evaluation of design ideas, in relation to calls and funding opportunities in favour of research (in collaboration with NerosuBianco – R&D Networking and Consultancy);
support to researchers in the various phases of research activities (e.g. planning, design, monitoring and reporting cycle);
support for pre-audit and external audit procedures on research and innovation projects;
assessment of the market potential of research results;
filing patent applications and intellectual property protection;
search for partners for the commercial exploitation of patents;
support in the definition of agreements and contracts with research institutions and companies;
exploitation of IRCCS’s intellectual property.
