Bio

Fabio Masina was born in Italy in 1983.

He received his Master’s Degree in Neuroscience and Neuropsychological Rehabilitation at the University of Padova (Italy) in 2014.

In 2019, he received his Ph.D. in Brain, Mind, and Computer Science at the University of Padova (Italy), under the supervision of Prof. Daniela Mapelli.

His research mainly concerned the investigation of the neural and behavioral correlates of error processing, a set of processes that allows to identify and correct motor errors commonly committed in everyday life.

Fabio collaborated with Prof. Wim Noterbaert at the University of Ghent (Belgium) studying the motor correlates of errors by using non-invasive brain stimulation techniques.

Research Interests

Fabio is primarily interested in the application of non-invasive brain stimulation techniques in the clinical and basic research fields.

Especially, he is interested to develop neuropsychological treatments more and more reliable and effective by using transcranial magnetic stimulation and transcranial electrical stimulation.

Currently, Fabio combines the use of non-invasive brain stimulation and electroencephalography to deeper investigate neural plasticity processes.

These processes are at the base of brain changes and they are responsible for the functional recovery in patients with brain damage.
