Bio

Sonia Montemurro was born in Italy in 1988.

She received her Master Degree in Neuroscience and Neuropsychological Rehabilitation at the University of Padova (Italy) in 2013.

She worked as Research Assistant at the CoLab (Padova) and at the Perception Action and Cognition Lab (United Kingdom) in EEG-based projects.

After her clinical and research activity based on neuro-visual disfunctions (NeuroVis.U.S., Padova), she worked in the Neuropsychological Units of the Institute “Figlie di San Camillo” (Cremona) and of the GVDR (Padova).

Then, she started her PhD in Brain, Mind and Computer Science (University of Padova), working at the University of Montréal and the University of Alberta (Canada), as International Scholar and as PhD Trainee.

Her project investigates the role of Cognitive Reserve in Language and Pragmatic processing.

She collaborated with the Department of Mathematics (Padova) for digitalizing paper-and-pencil cognitive tasks.

Research Interests

Sonia is interested in the development of innovative research-based methods applied to the neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation, through the introduction of cognitive reserve measures as rialiable predictors of cognitive performance in healthy and pathological populations.
